Kiwi Picking Tips

We have different kiwi varieties, all organic and pesticide-free, so take your time walking through the rows to notice all the different shapes and sizes 😋

To pick a kiwi, gently twist the fruit; this will make it easier to remove. Avoid tugging or pulling, as this can damage the vines. The more ripe a fruit is, the easier it will come off.

No need for stools or ladders! We’ve lowered the support beams so you can comfortably pick kiwis, even for the little ones. If you’re tall you may need to watch your head a bit in some areas!

We have some friendly sheep that will be roaming around the land. They are quite shy and tend to keep to themselves. Feel free to say hello 👋

When visiting, especially on rainy days, please be sure to wear comfortable waterproof shoes or boots as the ground can get muddy. You might also want to bring along some glasses or sunglasses to protect your eyes from any kiwi fuzz while picking. Gloves however aren’t necessary!

Kiwis grow on vines, much like grapes, and they take a few years to mature. We started this farm six years ago from tiny seeds, and with a lot of hard work, we’re excited to share the fruits of our labor with you! We’ve planted even more plants this year and expect the season to last until the first week of November.

I’m interested in picking kiwis this Sunday morning. When is the earliest available time for me to go?
